Scouting Report:
A force against the run, Thompson has shined as a two-gap run stuffer in Georgia’s new defensive scheme brought in by Kirby Smart. Able to hold his ground, and has the height and length to maintain his vision and able to disengage his block and bring down backs in the lanes to either side of him. Hasn’t been asked to do much 1 gap penetrating, but has shown some promise in that area. Ideal build at the moment to play as a 4-3 DT, but could also gain a little more bulk and play various roles in a 3-4. However, the more explosiveness he shows during the draft evaluation process, the more his stock will rise.
