DraftBlaster is an independent NFL draft publication, established in 2016. It is a hobby built around a serious interest in how football teams identify talent, manage limited resources and turn individual players into a coherent roster.

The weekly first-round mock draft is the center of the site. Each selection connects a prospect to a team through an explanation of needs, role, strengths, concerns and alternatives. More rounds are added as the draft approaches.
The purpose is to give readers a reason to consider the choice, even when they disagree with it. A familiar name beside a team logo is only the beginning of an analysis.
Free and editorially independent
DraftBlaster has always been free to read. The site does not run advertisements, and its editorial judgments are independent. Directory links are selected for their usefulness; another site does not have to link back to earn a place.
This is an independent publication, not an official NFL or college team website. Team and school references identify the subjects of the coverage.
An example of accuracy
The NFL Mock Draft Database’s 2024 final scores list DraftBlaster at No. 6 among 1,504 mocks, with a displayed score of 33.65%. That score uses the database’s own first-round scoring system; it is not a simple percentage of picks predicted exactly.
It is one documented example of a strong result. We do not present a single year’s ranking as proof of a permanent position or a guarantee about the next draft. The work still has to earn readers’ confidence each week.
A familiar purpose, a renewed presentation
The rebuilt site uses a clean newspaper-style layout, readable type and straightforward navigation. The aim is to make substantial analysis easier to read, rather than make readers search through clutter for the actual draft.
The restored Draft 101 library carries forward useful ideas from the original site. Its articles have been edited for clearer sentences, traditional grammar and current terminology. Dated examples are identified or replaced, and unsupported claims are removed.
Our editorial approach
Predictions are distinguished from recommendations. Changing information is dated. Official rosters, rules and transactions provide factual reference points, while prospect projections remain judgments. We do not claim access to private draft boards, medical files or internal team discussions.
Corrections and thoughtful disagreements are welcome. When an error is identified, the goal is to fix the underlying information and any conclusions that depend on it. Contact DraftBlaster with the page address and the relevant source.
