Direct answers about mock drafts, prospect rankings, and DraftBlaster’s weekly coverage.
What is an NFL mock draft?
An NFL mock draft is a prediction of which prospects teams might select and in what order. It is a projection, rather than an official list of selections.
When does DraftBlaster publish a new mock draft?
DraftBlaster’s regular publishing target is Tuesday at 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time, with a mock draft and Draft Notebook appearing together. The launch editions were published on October 20, 2026. Each article shows its publication or update date.
How many rounds does the mock draft cover?
Weekly coverage begins with the first round. Additional rounds are added as the NFL draft approaches. Each edition will clearly identify the rounds it covers.
What does DraftBlaster include with every pick?
Each selection in our 2027 NFL Mock Draft includes the prospect’s position, school, class, height, and weight; three Team Needs; a projected role and team fit; relevant evidence and sources; a “Beyond the obvious” tradeoff; a main concern; and an alternative prospect still available at that pick. Team jump links make individual selections easy to find.
How are Team Needs determined?
Team Needs are DraftBlaster’s editorial priorities for that edition, based on roster context and the direction of the projection. They are not official team rankings, and they do not force a pick at the first position listed. A prospect’s value, role, and the alternatives can justify addressing a different priority. Teams with multiple first-round picks use the same needs list, with the choices discussed as a connected plan.
What do “Main concern” and “Also considered” mean?
The main concern identifies the most important risk in the player, proposed role, or use of the selection. “Also considered” names another prospect still available in that scenario and explains the different choice it represents. These sections show the tradeoffs behind our projection; they are not reports of a team’s private shortlist.
Does a mock draft show prospect rankings?
A mock draft projects selections by teams. A prospect ranking orders players by an evaluator’s assessment. Team needs, scheme fit, and the available players can make the two lists different.
Why do mock draft predictions change?
Projections can change as college performances, team needs, pick ownership, and new information affect the evaluation. DraftBlaster’s weekly change notes will explain the most significant revisions.
Where can I find previous mock drafts?
The rebuilt site begins with the October 20, 2026 edition. As new editions appear, previous projections will be preserved in the mock draft archive. Completed annual pages will remain available after each draft.
Where does the draft order come from?
We check Tankathon’s NFL draft order when preparing an edition. Each mock identifies its cutoff date, includes existing traded picks, and states whether any new trades are projected. The order can change as games are played.
Are these official selections or reports of team plans?
No. A mock draft is an editorial projection. Our selections and team-building priorities are analysis, not official NFL decisions or claims of private access to a team’s scouting department.
